About
Kitchi Island Outposts runs fly-in fishing outpost camps on the east side of Lake Winnipeg, flying guests in from Jack Pine Resort about two and a half hours north of Winnipeg. The Kitchi Island camp sits at the mouth of Flour Channel on the Berens River system with over 12 miles of river to fish, plus access to Horseshoe Lake, while the Longhaul camp fishes Longish Lake, known for phenomenal walleye. Each outpost is the only camp on its lake, with a fully equipped cabin and an aluminum boat with outboard for every two or three guests. Target species are walleye and northern pike, with rock bass and perch also present. The live website, copyright 2026, confirms current operation.
