Bruin Outfitting was founded in 2004 by professional guide Matt Cornell, now owner and president of both Bruin Outfitting and Icebound Excursions Inc. In winter the operation runs run-and-gun guided ice trips and guided SnoBear fishing for Lake Winnipeg's roaming greenback walleye, with DIY SnoBear rentals also available. In open water, Thorne Bros and Lund Boats pro Matt Cornell guides musky trips on Lake of the Woods (aboard a Lund 219 GL Pro V with Thorne Bros custom rods and Shimano Tranx reels) plus walleye and multi-species trips at Hecla Island and Lake Winnipeg. Their pitch is full-service: all equipment, techniques, and tackle handled so clients just show up.

Guided SnoBear Fishing ($850 USD/$1,150 CAD, 3 anglers) targets giant walleye in comfort from machines rigged with everything needed. SnoBear Rental ($750 USD/$1,015 CAD, 4 anglers) lets anglers fish the lake on their own terms with a fueled machine rigged with electronics.
