Big Sand Lake Lodge is a fly-in fishing and hunting destination in northern Manitoba, about 550 miles north of Winnipeg, and describes itself as the only lodge on 60,000 acres of water. All packages include round-trip chartered flights from Winnipeg to its own private landing strip, five-star style accommodations in cabins with indoor plumbing and hot water, home-cooked meals with daily shore lunches, licensed guides, and 18-foot boats with 40 HP Yamaha motors and all fuel. Big Sand Lake is noted for trophy lake trout, northern pike, walleye and arctic grayling, and the operation also runs four outpost camps and world-class moose, black bear and wolf hunting trips.
