Sipiwesk Lake
About this lake
Sipiwesk Lake is a broad expansion of the upper Nelson River, flooded in 1961 by the Kelsey Generating Station. Experimental gillnet surveys have documented a rich fish community including walleye, northern pike, sauger, lake whitefish, perch, mooneyes and goldeye, and the area is recognized lake sturgeon habitat. It sits north of Cross Lake in remote, boat-access-only country.
